Q: How did you start your business? What made you to think to enter into a business?
It was on an impulse. I was wondering if there was any platform to conduct barter and what I saw disappointed me. I sensed an opportunity and hence started it.
Q: Tell us in detail about your business, your idea and how it can benefit others?
Barter is something that can be done by anyone. It could be a student who has some old books, a housewife who has a spare blender in her kitchen or a company/trader who has surplus inventory. Everyone has something or the other which is of no use to him, but can be used by someone else. We will provide a platform to find that someone else.
Q:What are the important things which differentiate your business from other? What is your USP?
The beauty of our business is that we don’t limit ourselves to only corporations. Even individuals can put any thing that they have to barter on our website.
Q:What is your revenue or business model?
Subscription to our website and advertising.
Q:What are your expansion plans and where do you see your business 5 years down the line?
The Sky is the limit.
Q:What were the biggest challenge(s) you faced in your journey as entrepreneur till now?
The biggest challenge I faced and am still facing is getting the right type of people to work with me according to my pace and my vision… Finance has never been a problem as the concept was well received and people easily loaned me the money.
Q:What is the biggest mistake you made as an amateur entrepreneur?
I tend to think that till now I haven’t made any catastrophic mistake.
Q: What you want to say to the new entrepreneurs or the one who wants to start his/her own business?
Research thoroughly about the business that you are planning to launch, but in the end, just go with your gut feeling.
Q: Who is your business idol and why?
My business idols are Mr. Azim Premji and Ratan Tata as from them I have learnt that it is possible to conduct business in India without compromising on your honesty and integrity. Our aim at www.bartermaniac.com is to conduct fair business without compromising even an iota on our integrity, honesty and values.
Q: What’s your ultimate business and life goal?
To create a brand/business that brings a change in the life of ordinary people of our country.
