Interview (Q & A Round):

Q: How did you start your business? What made you to think to enter into a business?

Earlier I was a part of successful startup. It went on to become India’s largest digital marketing company. Was involved with it for 8 years. Similarly Gautham and Raghavendra had great strengths in Telecom and Mobile Field. Wifin the company with which Raghavendra was heading won the Nasscom Product Showcase award. We saw great opportunities in these areas and that made us to start a new company.

Q: What are the important things which differentiate your business from other? What is your USP?

As far as business ideas are concerned they are not path breaking. However, we’re placing a lot of emphasis on building strong relationships with vendors. We’re creating an infrastructure that is easily scalable. Our business requires a lot of offline activity and that will be the key to our success. We are in the process of building strong tie-ups with theatres, bus travel companies, retailers, for us to offer our services effectively to our users. Our products are fully developed, tested and deployed and have proven to be robust, scalable and elegant.

Q: What is your revenue or business model?

In UPto75.com – Charging Retailers / Merchants

For NoMoreQueue Movies -Charge a small convenience fee from customers.

For NoMoreQueue Movies – Get a commission from Bus Companies and a small convenience

fee from customers.

Q: In the next 5 year, what are your expansion plans and where do you see your business 5 years down the line?

To be among the top two players in our field and in our chosen areas. We plan to take our services pan India and to other countries too.

Q: What were the biggest challenge(s) you faced in your journey as entrepreneur till now?

Creating the sales infrastructure has been our biggest challenge. We’re still in the process of fine tuning it.

Q: What is the biggest mistake you made as an amateur entrepreneur?

I wouldn’t call it a mistake. We expected the markets to behave/react as we perceived it. And they usually don’t. They have a mind of their own. So you need to have a plan B always ready.

Q: What you want to say to the new entrepreneurs or the one who wants to start his/her own business?

Hire the right team, work hard and minimize the cash burn. Never give up. Set up processes right from start. Follow up is the key. Be hands on. Be flexible and reinvent if required. Learn from every experience. Go and test the market. Don’t make all the plans in the cabin alone. Getting pulse is most important.

Q: Who is your business idol and why?

Several; I like people who dare to do something and are honest.

  • 1. Azim Premji of Wipro
  • 2. Ramesh Chauhan of Parle
  • 3. Suresh Krishna of Sundaram Fasteners
  • 4. Dr. Anji Reddy of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories

Q: What’s your ultimate business and life goal?

  • To become a company with presence in many countries.
  • To be a leader in its field.
  • To be the most innovative company in its field.
  • To be a totally process oriented and always cash surplus.
  • To be one of the most admired company for HR processes.
