So back to blogging now, this time his SUPERBLOG which started in July 2005 and contain around 560 posts, become the reason to include him in our blogger list.
The SUPERBLOG founder,Kaustubh aka “The Big K says “I started a blog because I thought its fun. It was frustrating to experience insanity from seemingly smarter folks. So I decided to start my own secret place where I’d post these experiences. Thus my blog was born. From day one, it’s called “The Big K’s SuperBlog”. “The Big K” is my identity on the Internet.”
Superblog is all about Kaustubh views on life and also likes to cover the topic people like to talk over the dining table, in coffee rooms etc, as of now the blog has received over 1800 comments on blog posts.

Q. What motivated you to start blogging?
K: I started a blog because I thought its fun. It was frustrating to experience insanity from seemingly smarter folks. So I decided to start my own secret place where I’d post these experiences. Thus my blog was born. From day one, it’s called “The Big K’s SuperBlog”. “The Big K” is my identity on the Internet.
Q. Tell us in detail about your blog, your idea and how it can benefit others?
K: The Big K’s SuperBlog is about pointing out stupidity in what people would otherwise consider ‘normal’. I write my opinion on variety of topics. My posts on appraisals, software engineers, staying in India have been most popular.
Frankly speaking, I don’t expect my blog to benefit anyone. I do secretly wish that my blog gives people a new way of thinking.
Q. What area or topic you generally cover in your blog, any special reason behind it?
K: My blog usually contains my opinion on variety of topics. I usually cover the topics people like to talk over the dining table, in coffee rooms etc. My only aim is to provide my point of view.
Q. Which blogging platform you are using (wordpress, blogspot, bloggers etc), any reason about it?
K: Earlier I was on blogger.com. I ran blog there for quite some time. Now, I use Wordpress on my own server. Wordpress is a fantastic piece of software that does the job very well. Moreover, its very user friendly and easy to upgrade.
Q. How frequent you update your blog? How many post your blog is carrying at present?
K: There is no fixed schedule. I typically write 3-4 posts a week. The blogging activity has taken a backseat because of my busy schedule since last 2 months.
Superblog currently has 560 published posts and several are waiting in draft state. The blog has gathered over 1800 comments so far.
Q. What tools you use to increase your blog readership and bring people on your blog? Do you use social networking sites?
K: Google analytics show that considerable traffic comes through referrals. There are also lots of visitors through Google searches. The site has got a huge number of repeat visitors – a clear indication that readers love what I write. I believe there is no substitute to writing stuff that people like.
I’m strictly against social networks. I can be found on CrazyEngineers, ID: The_Big_K.
Q. Any specific tips you have for new bloggers who want to make it in the blogsphere?
K: First of all, you need to be passionate about blogging & bold enough to express your views publicly. There are lot of bloggers who started blogging after reading my blog and their blogs haven’t gone beyond couple of introductory posts and fake promises to ‘be back’.
Q. Do you earn revenue through your blog? If yes then how a blogger should monetize his / her blog? If no, then any plans in future?
K: I didn’t start the blog to monetize it. I regularly get requests for paid links which I accept only if the linked site is worth placing the link on my blog.
Q. What are your other favorite blogs which you follow, can you list the top 5 such blogs?
K: I follow TechCrunch, Lifehacker, Dilbert Blog, Engadget and couple of other blogs.
