Interview (Q&A Round) :

Q. What motivated you to start blogging?

The day, I came to know about the internet, I had a keen interest of having an online presence on the internet and discussing about the latest trends in the technology world. It started out with reading stuffs and things available on the internet, reading content posted on blogs and understanding the latest trend going around in the world. Blogs and various sites motivated me to discuss them and write about them. And finally in 2007, I started blogging on things going around the world and about web trends.

Q. Tell us in detail about your blog, your idea and how it can benefit others?

Both of my blogs differ in the type contents being posted. One of my blog is completely technology, software and web oriented. And other is about latest news, humor, fun, gadgets, etc. While posting, I keep in mind about the kind of language being used and the pictures related to the post.

Q. What area or topic you generally cover in your blog, any special reason behind it?

Technology blog covers the softwares, latest technology, downloading stuffs, etc.

Around the world discuss about fun, timepass, gadgets, humor, etc.

Q. Which blogging platform you are using (wordpress, blogspot, bloggers etc), any reason about it?

I am using blogspot and there is no reason for it. Its just that blogspot is the first one I came to know and it’s a google product, so I opted for it.

Q. How frequent you update your blog? How many post your blog is carrying at present?

Twice a week but nowadays the frequency is reduced due to office work.

Q. What tools you use to increase your blog readership and bring people on your blog? Do you use social networking sites?

I use plugins and scripts to show recent comments, top posts and related posts for individual posts which helps user to get related posts quickly and easily.

I keep updating my layouts and color structure to make it attractive and nice from viewer’s point of view.

I use networking site like orkut and facebook to get the users, and undoubtedly messengers are the best medium to let your posts or ideas reach to the users/friends.

Also, I use blogcatalog.com and sites similar to it to get the readers of same interests.

Q. Any specific tips you have for new bloggers who want to make it in the blogsphere?

Following are the few which I think are important for fresh and new bloggers:-

  • Keep posting at regular intervals. Try to be original and creative.
  • Do comment on others blog.
  • Keep reading blogs and contents of your interest.
  • Participate in discussions and comments.
  • Be cool, calm and positive about your blog. Because initially the blog wouldn’t be noticed by much users, but if you keep updating your blog at regular interval, then reaching the heights is just a step away.
  • Try to be innovative and get friendly with users.
  • Try to keep a picture for every post, as it helps user to understand the post more quickly rather then writing paragraphs and essays.

Q. Do you earn revenue through your blog? If yes then how a blogger should monetize his / her blog? If no, then any plans in future?

Not at present. I have been using google AdSense, but still haven’t reached a target where I can see a cheque in my account. Google AdSense is easy to use and helpful too. But beware of displaying too many ads on your blog, as it becomes annoying and difficult for the user to read and understand the post.

Q. What are your other favorite blogs which you follow, can you list the top 5 such blogs?

Following are the few which I follow:-

http://www.techcrunch.com

http://www.labnol.blogspot.com

http://www.ditii.com

http://hackosphere.blogspot.com

http://abeautifulbeta.blogspot.com

    Hi Milan,
I liked your interview and the way you answered the questions. The only thing that i was thinking is the use of language and the professionalism. I have not read your technology blog as i am not that techno freak, about your other blog that just fun. It states about all the experiences each one of us face in everyday life. Keep writing.

    Regards,
    Shivani
