Interview with blogger Varnita Bose
Be creative. Decide what it is that you want to share with the rest of the world.
- Varnita Bose
Varnita Bose an MBA graduate says “One day I had a nasty quarrel with my mom and my rant in the form of a long blog on ‘Autocratic Moms’ was the perfect revenge. That also happened to be my first blog on Infyblogs. This started a series of movie-review blogs, short stories, anecdotes and personal experiences which garnered a consistent fan-following. My style of writing was appreciated and applauded by many. Most importantly I made a number of great friends across the different locations where Infosys was located. After I quit Infosys earlier this year, to pursue MBA, I missed Infyblogs immensely. Starting an external blog consequently was the only rational answer to end my misery.”
Varnita started her personal blog “The Middle Ground” in June 2009; it’s all about her thoughts, views on life, book and movies etc.
In an interview with webneetech.com, Varnita Bose shared her journey and experience about blogging.

Interview (Q&A Round):
Q. What motivated you to start blogging?
When I was working with Infosys Technologies, Chennai, I stumbled upon the company wide blogging portal called Infyblogs. One day I had a nasty quarrel with my mom and my rant in the form of a long blog on ‘Autocratic Moms’ was the perfect revenge.
Starting an external blog consequently was the only rational answer to end my misery.
Q. Tell us in detail about your blog, your idea and how it can benefit others?
I named my blog ‘The Middle Ground’ because life is the most enjoyable when it is moderated and never in the extremes. Some people don’t think very highly of compromise but what get in return from win-win situations is contentment. My experiences in life have taught me that it is the quality of friends, happiness and life that is important not the quantity.
Q. What area or topic you generally cover in your blog, any special reason behind it?
My blogs are usually my random thoughts, presented in a structured manner. I could be reminiscing, over giving my opinions about a book, movie or a restaurant, sharing a recipe or complaining about the Government or lecturing about Economics or Compiler Design.
Q. Which blogging platform you are using (wordpress, blogspot, bloggers etc), any reason about it?
Blogspot simply because it was the easiest to start. (I had a gmail id)
Q. How frequent you update your blog? How many post your blog is carrying at present?
There is no fixed periodicity. I could put 3 posts on 3 consecutive days and then never blogs for weeks. It depends on what I am doing at a point of time, with whom I am hanging out with, how happy/sad I am and how much I am learning from life. At present my blog has 21 posts.
Q. What tools you use to increase your blog readership and bring people on your blog? Do you use social networking sites?
My blog is designed in a minimalistic way. I don’t have many tools on my blog because I want to focus the reader’s attention on what I write. I do import my blog on facebook
Q. Any specific tips you have for new bloggers who want to make it in the blogsphere?
Be creative. Decide what it is that you want to share with the rest of the world. It could be thoughts, experiences, pictures, knowledge, stories, and everything apart from this. Give a structure to your blog posts. Have Patience if you don’t immediately get a response.
Q. Do you earn revenue through your blog? If yes then how a blogger should monetize his / her blog? If no, then any plans in future?
I can start monetizing my blog using adsense only after six months from starting. I have not made any plans as yet.
Q. What are your other favorite blogs which you follow, can you list the top 5 such blogs?
The Clean Slate, Psychedelic, W (Wordpress), Enigmatic Existence, My Mind and others.
