Interview with blogger Sana Hashmi

16 December 2009 4 Comments

“My blog is a mirror to my thoughts and a platform to explore the lessons life teaches each one of us every single day.”

- Sana Hashmi

sanaWebneetech.com interviewed Sana Hashmi, founder of “Aspaceofonesown and Legacyrestored”. She started blogging in 2008 to share her thoughts about life and her personal experience.

Reason behind Sana’s blogging, can be best described in her own words, Sana says, “I started writing for MSN‘s citizen speak and from there ended up creating my blog. I believe it’s very important to bring out your thoughts and to express them in such a way that a balance can be struck between your internal being and the external environment. My Journey started with just three lines, “Though a bit glittery, the journey has begun…. journey through the trodden yet unknown paths of life. Since life unfolds at it’s own pace I am yet to discover what it has in store for me. Until then I choose to be blissfully ignorant. ”Be it an urge to find out the real you, or an excitement for dreams to come true or just a simple zeal for life or a prayer for a nation to unite, everything can be explored through words, and its amazing when one gets to know that feelings travel across borders and find minds that can relate to them. It was blogging that motivated me to blog even more.”

We found Sana a very expressive and talented writer and here we present one of the best interview we have received till date.

About yourself : Venerate life in all its forms, distinct and pristine as it was born, through endeavors that wreaked havoc on its fragile skin, making it deplete in the storms self formed. Pristine it was and would have been, if the tides of humanity had been soothing.

I, a dilapidated soul when asked for repentance, it stretched its arms to take me in, and then I realized what a fool I was, never saw the path towards a New Beginning.

Interview Round (Q&A):

Q. What motivated you to start blogging?

I started writing for MSN‘s citizen speak and from there ended up creating my blog. I believe it’s very important to bring out your thoughts and to express them in such a way that a balance can be struck between your internal being and the external environment.
My Journey started with just three lines, “Though a bit glittery, the journey has begun…. journey through the trodden yet unknown paths of life. Since life unfolds at its own pace I am yet to discover what it has in store for me. Until then I choose to be blissfully ignorant. ”
Be it an urge to find out the real you, or an excitement for dreams to come true or just a simple zeal for life or a prayer for a nation to unite, everything can be explored through words, and its amazing when one gets to know that feelings travel across borders and find minds that can relate to them.
It was blogging that motivated me to blog even more.

Q. Tell us in detail about your blog? What area or topic you generally cover in your blog, any special reason behind it?

My blog is a mirror to my thoughts and a platform to explore the lessons life teaches each one of us every single day. Even an empty mind pours out such unusual thoughts that life seems like a question that all of us want to find an answer to. My posts deal with such thoughts and the way they create an unusual web of curiosity in my mind. I wanted to carve out a space of my own, where I could share what I observe and learn, a take on the roads that we step on in life and how each day becomes a lesson and thus the blog name http://aspaceofonesown.blogspot.com

My second blog ( http://alegacyrestored.blogspot.com) began with a wish that my grandfather expressed to share his memories with people, memories related to the time when he stepped into Delhi as a little boy, to became a part of an important institution called Jamia, and how a small beginning gave way to a big university, his teachers, his post graduation, a department for adult education and a lot more. But much could not be written as he left on a journey to the other world. The blog now shares his memories, values, thoughts and the lessons I learnt from him, lessons about how simple things in life, make a huge difference to our being and to those who are close to us.

Q. Why reader should come on your blog…What is the best part of your blog?

Well I really can’t say what’s best about my blog because I write what I believe in, the thoughts that come to my mind and the things that I observe in day to day life. Words have an amazing way of weaving a chord through which ideas get woven in such a way, that as they travel they find a new thread that gets connected , resulting in a whole new world. The ones that get connected are the ones that become a part of this world, it’s a platform where we feel an important part of the chord that binds many, thoughts are the only important identity that each one shares. It’s a beautiful idea…so just get connected.

Q. Which blogging platform you are using (wordpress, blogspot, bloggers etc), any reason about it?

I haven’t explored any platform other than blogspot which works well for me.

Q. How frequent you update your blog? How many post your blog is carrying at present?

It depends on the stream of thoughts, sometimes it’s quite often and sometimes there’s a few weeks gap between two posts. I have a total of 168 posts (from both my blogs). But it’s not important as to how frequently you write, it’s more important to write something that you believe in. If your posts have the power to sink in and bring a positive change to you or to any one else, it’s worth the effort.

Q. What tools you use to increase your blog readership and bring people on your blog? Do you use social networking sites?

I just use a single tool and that’s honesty….everything else follows. When I took the first step into the world of blogging, it was a new experience for me, I didn’t know where to start from, I just began pouring out thoughts that came to my mind, with time a few friends joined in and today I have many amazing people ….their posts are straight from the heart and it can be observed easily. Fake thoughts or false posts have a short life in this world.
Readership increases once you start writing and once people start understanding your thoughts.

Q. Any specific tips you have for new bloggers who want to make it in the
blogsphere?

Just write what appeals to you, be honest with your thoughts and don’t try copying others, it just doesn’t work. Do read what other people write, because it’s amazing what all you can learn from the people in your country or around the globe. Don’t write as if you’re writing for an audience, write for yourself, if you’re happy with what you write others would like it for sure, because when we are confident about ourselves it’s only then that others gain confidence on us.
Don’t write just to gain popularity or because blogging is something that’s in….
write to enjoy yourself and to reflect on your ideas….make blogging an interesting experience and an enjoyable one.

Q. Do you earn revenue through your blog? If yes then how a blogger should monetize his / her blog? If no, then any plans in future?

None, it’s a generous spray of thoughts and the earnings are the amazing responses and the warm comments that I get. It’s Quite a lucrative platform that makes one richer because with each passing day you have bonds that become better with time….bonds with yourself, your inner being and that with the people who exchange thoughts and make the experience even better.

Q. What are your other favorite blogs which you follow, can you list the top 5 such blogs?

Top 5 won’t be possible but I’d love to mention that ones I like the most.

Mr.K.Parthasarathi-(http://kparthas.blogspot.com/ ) he’s my favorite story teller.

Rashmi or Rush -( http://memoirsofeverdaylife.blogspot.com/ ) I have enjoyed beautiful places through her posts, she sure knows the secret to fill each day with an amazingly positive spark.

Manivannan  (http://manivannansmirror.blogspot.com/ )  He has a good hand on photography and an amazing ability of expressing deep thoughts through just a few words. An art that very few can excel in.

Mr. Joseph ( http://ptjosephrosa.blogspot.com/ ) one can call him a great photographer and an even better thinker. He resides in Kochi, Kerela and clicks pictures from everyday life. He has this amazing ability of involving his readers into discussion.

Maithri’s  http://www.soaringimpulse.com/ is an amazing blog that wipes the tears from the face of innocence and brings them towards the sunny side of life. Working towards a better life for the people of Swaziland (a country with the highest prevalence of HIV) this blog is an inspiration for one to come ahead and be there for the ones who are in need of a new beginning.

Margaret digs yesterday’s memories through her amazing blog http://olddigger.blogspot.com/ .

Veena has this amazing ability of getting a smile o n her readers face through her blog http://destinyschildsspace.blogspot.com/

It’s a long never ending list because the journey through the blog world becomes all the more interesting when you travel in a caravan full of minds that make your experience an enlightening affair.
