Interview with blogger Bharathi Subbarayan

6 January 2010 No Comment

“Be honest. No one likes fake ideas. Be precise. No one likes boredom.”

- Bharathi Subbarayan

Bharathi Subbarayan As we all know that today blogging has become a strong medium to express and share our thoughts with people around the world and here we found our blogger Bharathi Subbarayan, who wants to create a corruption free society, country and a place where anyone can raise their voice freely on any issue or concern.

The blog “Clickbharathi” is his small initiative to make us aware and responsible about our society, culture, people and country.

Bharathi says “When I am back from UK, I felt there is a need for our country to change in almost all the areas. But I strongly believe the change should come within the people rather than outside like systems and setup.  For everything we have a habit of blaming the politicians. We blame them for corruption, but from an auto driver to businessman, almost everyone wants to get that extra money within their limit. In simple words, we want everyone else to change other than our own self. We forget to see politicians as one among us and almost neglect to accept that we are the one who elected them continuously. We elect corrupt persons, religious fanatics, inept and later, blame them.

The choices in front of me were to accept this or to bear this or to do something to change this. I decided to pick the last one. I try to write as much as possible to remove these ignorance out of them and to implant that the change should start from their own self.”

We like the way Bharathi has expressed his views and thoughts on social issues and philosophy.

Interview (Q&A Round)

Q. What motivated you to start blogging?

When I am back from UK, I felt there is a need for our country to change in almost all the areas. But I strongly believe the change should come within the people rather than outside like systems and setup. For everything we have a habit of blaming the politicians. We blame them for corruption, but from an auto driver to businessman, almost everyone wants to get that extra money within their limit. We blame them for spoiling public property for welcoming their leaders, but we don’t bother digging the road for erupting shamiyanas.

In simple words, we want everyone else to change other than our own self. We forget to see politicians as one among us and almost neglect to accept that we are the one who elected them continuously. We elect corrupt persons, religious fanatics, inept and later, blame them.

We never mind doing our job to the complete satisfaction either in government office or private business but we blame the inefficiency of our system. We never give respect to our fellow people but we complain that this world is grim. This is what I call as ignorance.

The choices in front of me were to accept this or to bear this or to do something to change this. I decided to pick the last one. I try to write as much as possible to remove these ignorance out of them and to implant that the change should start from their own self.

Q. Tell us in detail about your blog? What area or topic you generally cover in your blog, any special reason behind it?

I cover mostly social issues and philosophy. I think I answered rest of this question in my previous answer.

Q. Why reader should come on your blog…What is the best part of your blog?

Anyone who is ready to accept their own faults can read my blog. One thing I can guarantee is honesty. I really don’t like faking my feelings.

Q. Which blogging platform you are using (wordpress, blogspot, bloggers etc), any reason about it?

Blogspot.

Q. How frequent you update your blog? How many post your blog is carrying at present?

I don’t have a set time to update. If I feel something to be informed, I write. Sometimes this happens 4 times a week and sometimes I would be even dry for a month. At present I have 66 posts.

Q. What tools you use to increase your blog readership and bring people on your blog? Do you use social networking sites?

I really hate bugging people with self promotion. My way of bringing people is to register in blog directories, to leave a meaningful comment in others’ post and to give a notification in Orkut, Facebook and twitter.

Q. Any specific tips you have for new bloggers who want to make it in the blogsphere?

Be honest. No one likes fake ideas. Be precise. No one likes boredom.

Q. What you like most about internet and why?

Information: Information is the starting point for good decision making. I can get required information in no time right from fixing a bug in my computer to finding my client’s contacts.

Friendship: I like meeting new people for two reasons. One, you get to know lots of new things and two, the obvious reason, how long can one lead a lonely life. We need people to share.

Q. What you hate most about internet and why?

It kills away most of my time.

Q. Do you earn revenue through your blog? If yes then how a blogger should monetize his / her blog? If no, then any plans in future?

Nops. I installed adsence for quite some time. But I learnt that even by mistake people won’t click on it. So, later, to give a better layout, I removed it. And yeah, if you suggest a good way to earn money, I would be thankful. But remember, I hate irritating my readers with popups and misleading links.

Q. What are your other favorite blogs which you follow, can you list the top 5 such blogs?

  • I like all the blogs that I have in my blogroll. As you asked for just 5, I listed only the typical blogs.
