Interview (Q&A Round):

Q. What motivated you to start blogging?

A passion for writing was always there. Used to write a lot and circulate among friends. But then I felt that to reach a wider base of readers, I had to try some other ways. My friend advised me about having my own blog at that point of time. Though I hesitated at first, but then thought of giving it a shot. Have been blogging since then. Though I am not absolutely regular, but I do post my words, ideas and thoughts every now and then.

Q. Tell us in detail about your blog? What area or topic you generally cover in your blog, any special reason behind it?

My blog is basically a blog on literary works. Poems, stories, anecdotes and articles mainly constitute the blog. Though there are two videos featured in the blog which I were associated in making, but it is mainly the written works that mark my blog. Generally I write stories about love and life, as I have always been fascinated by these two topics.

Q. Why reader should come on your blog… What is the best part of your blog?

Any reader who is interested in literary works may find my blog worth peeping in. If I have to point out, then I guess the best part of my blog is the lucidity of the language and my attempt to search depths of the human mind through simple writings.

Q. Which blogging platform you are using (wordpress, blogspot, bloggers etc), any reason about it?

I am using Blogspot.

No, there is no particular reason behind it. It’s just that when I decided to start blogging I had to choose a platform, and Blogspot seemed the friendliest.

Q. How frequent you update your blog? How many post your blog is carrying at present?

It depends. There are months when I have updated my blog once in every two-three days. But there have been many long dry spells as well.

There are 36 posts at present.

Q. What tools you use to increase your blog readership and bring people on your blog? Do you use social networking sites?

I do follow a lot of blogs and give my opinions there which have in someway helped me and my works to reach many people as well.

I have registered my blog in a few blogsites like Indiblogger, World Blog Archive, Apex Web Directory, Bloghounds, Blog Catalog, India Blogs, etc. and they help a lot as well to bring in new readers.

I do let people know about my blog through Orkut and Facebook as well.

Q. Any specific tips you have for new bloggers who want to make it in the blogsphere?

Write whatever you like. Be honest to your subject. And go through the entire text you wrote at last twice before posting it.

Do visit other blogs and give your opinions there. It is best to get your blogs to other’s attention by giving them their due attention as well. And do accept & reply to every kind of opinions and comments equally gracefully.

Q. What you like most about internet and why?

The thing I like about internet the most is the vast subjects it covers. It is like a library with limitless information.

Q. What you hate most about internet and why?

No thing as such. It all depends on how we use it. But if I have to point out something that really disturbs, it’s the viruses.

Q. Do you earn revenue through your blog? If yes then how a blogger should monetize his / her blog? If no, then any plans in future?

No, I do not earn revenue through my blog. And I do not have any such plans for my immediate future.

Q. What are your other favorite blogs which you follow, can you list the top 5 such blogs?

Top 5 blogs for me are:

  • Novosphere.
  • Paulo Coelho’s Blog.
  • Poem to the Lost Souls.
  • Solitude Revisited.
  • Story Lounge.
